Tattoo Aftercare

Welcome to the aftercare page for Liam Rebel Tattoos and Rebel Studio.

Below is our recommended tattoo aftercare procedure. Please follow this guide to ensure your tattoo heals well and will look its best for a long time to come

1. When your tattoo is finished, your artist will thoroughly clean then wrap the area with film to cover and protect the tattoo.

2. Keep your tattoo covered for the first few hours after getting it done. This will protect it from dirt and bacteria.

3. Wash your hands before touching your tattoo.

4.Gently clean the tattoo with lukewarm water and mild, unscented soap. Avoid hot water as it can damage the tattoo.

5. Pat the tattoo dry with a clean, dry towel. Avoid rubbing it as this can cause the tattoo to fade.

6. After 24 hours apply a thin layer of unscented, fragrance-free lotion to the tattoo such as a specialist tattoo aftercare balm/Palmers Cocoa Butter/Aquaphor or similar 3-4 times a day or as required. This will help to keep the tattoo moisturized and prevent it from drying out.

7. Avoid using products such as Vaseline or Bepanthen on your tattoo. These products contains ingredients such as panthenol and petroleum jelly that can create a barrier on the skin and trap bacteria, dirt, and other substances against the skin, which can lead to infection.

8. Avoid soaking your tattoo in water for the first few weeks after getting it done. This includes swimming, hot tubs, and baths.

9. Avoid exposing your tattoo to direct sunlight or UV rays for at least 3-4 weeks. If you do need to go out in the sun, make sure to use a high SPF sunscreen to protect your tattoo.

10. Avoid tight clothing over the tattoo for the first few days. Loose, breathable clothing is best.

11. If you notice any redness, swelling, or discharge from the tattoo, contact your tattoo artist or a healthcare professional.
