Lion head on the back of the hand

A calm, steady-eyed lion looking straight out from the back of the hand, his mane loosening into open strokes towards the knuckles.

The face sits centred over the hand so it reads the right way up when the arm hangs down, and the mane is left soft and sketchy at the edges so it fades into the skin rather than stopping at a hard line.

Done for Michael in a half-day sitting.
